Learning Curve

After three years, The Learning Curve column comes to an end this week, but please check out my Learning Curve blog at http://santafelearningcurve.wordpress.com/. I’ll use it to keep you posted on education-related news and stories in The New Mexican — as well as recounting various experiences I have in the schools.

I can think of no better way to say goodbye to the column than to profile my predecessor, John Sena. He served as education reporter for The New Mexican from the summer of 2005 to the summer of 2009 before becoming a freshman English teacher at Española Valley High School. That school graduated John in 1998, after which he earned his journalism degree at New Mexico State University.

    Mr. Nott:

I have enjoyed your column immensely and can only say that you will be missed. You've probably drawn too much attention to the issues that are facing our children and providing good and obvious answers that just won't happen under the current regime.

Should you ever run for office, you've got the votes and admiration of many.

Take care, and know you have friends.

    Jenn
