The Santa Fe school board will vote Tuesday on naming a new south-side school after Adelina (Nina) Otero Warren (1881-1965), who was the first woman to serve on the Santa Fe Board of Education in 1914. She promoted both women’s rights and bilingual education and was once a Republican candidate for the state’s House of Representatives.
The K-8 school is scheduled to open in the fall of 2014.
