Good for Mr. Andres Valdez positive contribution of community activism over the years. He exhibits a lot of creditability and respect from the community he represents and I do acknowledge his sincere and caring demeanor for everyone, including the law enforcement community. Frankly, you have to know him from a personal level and working experience (grass root activism) that he does for Albuquerque. He has my support in what he expresses in a public form on specific public safety issues in his community.[thumbup]

Thank God for that video. Anything a cop does should be available to public view and scrutiny, they work for the people, and they are not the CIA. Your statement that Boyd "absolutely deserved to be shot" speaks to your mentality, which, fortunately, few people share. 85-90% of the public who saw that video agree it was ridiculous or unjustified. It was one man with a small knife (maybe 2 knives) Three trained, heavily armed police officers are not the same as an innocent child or loved one. If you can't see the difference, then I understand the strange thinking behind your warped statements.

What you all should be attempting to gain through activism is a new policy that APD should no longer video tape anything they do since you all can't stomach the real world!

Cops screw up all the time and they should be held accountable, absolutely. But just look at your ridiculous comments, " Not a CLEAR danger to anyone," are you kidding me. Did you think they were going to let this guy just walk down that hill and then what. That's where your lack of knowledge regarding police work is evident. They tried to surprise and take down Boyd and arrest him. He resisted by NOT following commands that were clear and concise. He then pulled out a knife! What do you think he was going to do peel an apple? Look at his record he has slashed one person with a knife already and has committed multiple assaults and battery's on people and officers. He absolutely deserved to be shot. HE pulled out a knife on officers who gave him the option to comply, plain and simple! Ron would it have been ok for Boyd to be shot if he pulled that knife out on your child or loved one?

Clearly from your many posts, you do not get it. Watch the video, James Boyd may not be without a record and was not innocent, but he did not deserve to die, PERIOD. Police do many good things, but this was outrageous and must not go unnoticed, unprotested (clearly a word I made up), and unpunished. We the people will not allow out cops to kill people who are not a CLEAR danger to anyone. Thus the outrage. I would not live in a society where a tragic mistake like this one becomes acceptable. Do cops make any mistakes in your view?

Yea Boyd was such a poor innocent victim right? He pulled a knife out on police officers that there is enough to justify his death, sorry to tell you the truth. Boyd was a violent felon who sexually victimized children just look at his arrest history... Stop being a cop hater and starting hating on those idiots in this society who force cops to use deadly force! Just like the shooting after Boyd's. Tell me that criminal didn't deserve what happened to him. Look at his facebook page where he's holding an AK 47. But the cops are the bad guys huh until one of these criminals hurts you or your family. I wouldn't doubt that you think holding an AK 47 while your on probation is just free speech to you right?

When the cops kill enough people, and catch one of the murders on video, lots of people will start to support activists like Andres Valdez.
