The Santa Fe Police Department is investigating the following reports:

  • A resident of the 2800 block of Don Quixote reported an unknown person took a blank check from a desk drawer at her home, forged it with her name and then cashed it at a local bank Oct. 3.
  • Someone stole an electronic game station from Personal Credit Plan, 4350 Airport Road, No. 11, between noon and 12:30 p.m. Tuesday.
  • A Jasper, Tenn., resident reported someone stole a global-positioning system his 2008 Chevrolet while it was parked at 4298 Cerrillos Road between 9 p.m. Monday and 5 a.m. Tuesday. Someone broke a window with a rock to gain entry.
  • A flat-screen television was stolen from Just for Grins, 490 W. Zia Road, Building B, No. 6, between 10:30 a.m. Monday and 7:30 a.m. Tuesday. A window was broken to gain entry.
  • A statue of an angel was taken from a business at 1942 Cerrillos Road on Monday.
  • A Pecos man reported his 1996 Ford pickup — New Mexico plate KFZ-809 — was stolen from the parking lot of Lowe's Home Improvement, 3458 Zafarano Drive, early Tuesday.
  • A laptop computer was stolen from a classroom at Santa Fe High School between 12:20 and 1:05 p.m. Tuesday.
  • A wooden chest was stolen from the front porch of a residence in the 400 block of Camino Delora between 1 p.m. Oct. 8 and 11 a.m. Monday.
  • Josiah Duran, 1489 Zepol Road, No. 301, was charged with possession of controlled substances — marijuana, cocaine and hallucinogenic mushrooms — in the 200 block of Camino Alire at 2:30 a.m. Tuesday. He was later served an outstanding bench warrant from Santa Fe Municipal Court, charging he had failed to appear in court on a previous charge.
  • Emory Gurule of Española was charged with breaking and entering and criminal damage to property after he allegedly kicked in a door in the 400 block of West Water Street about 3:30 a.m. Tuesday.
  • Someone broke into a 1995 Jeep parked in the 1100 block of Camino Cruz Blanca between noon Monday at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday and stole several items.
  • Numerous pallets of tile were stolen from Milestone Tile, 922 Shoofly St., between 8:23 p.m. Saturday and 3:10 a.m. Sunday, it was reported Monday.
  • An unattended death was reported at an apartment complex at 3357 Cerrillos Road at 10:30 a.m. Monday.
  • A radar detector was stolen from a 2009 Toyota parked at the Marriot Hotel, 3347 Cerrillos Road, between 7 p.m. Monday and 6 a.m. Tuesday.
  • A global-positioning system was stolen from a 2008 Pontiac parked at the Hampton Inn, 3625 Cerrillos Road, between 8 p.m. Monday and 10 a.m. Tuesday.

The Santa Fe County Sheriff's Department is investigating the following reports:

  • Someone used a person's credit card to purchase two laptop computers from a Best Buy store about 1 p.m. Monday.
  • A resident of Violet Circle reported Tuesday that between October 2007 and April 2008, her house sitter stole $5,000 in cash and other items. The house sitter promised to pay back the money, but failed to do so.
  • A man reported someone broke into a home owned by his mother in the 1600 block of Jordan Logan Road between Oct. 4 and Monday.
  • Someone broke into a residence in the 6100 block of Airport Road on Monday, tore up clothes, threw a rock at the resident's vehicle, but didn't take anything.
  • Toni Gobin, 23, of Santa Fe was arrested on charges of driving while intoxicated and careless driving after her vehicle rolled over on Avenida del Sur. Two passengers were injured in the one-vehicle crash.
  • Lawrence Catanach, 57, was arrested on charges of battery against a household member and interference with telecommunications after deputies responded to a report of a domestic dispute at a residence on Cerrado Road in the Eldorado area. "Deputies learned the argument was over the picking and giving away of piñon nuts," says the report. "The victim reported the suspect grabbed her by the throat and attempted to drag her out of the residence. When the victim used her cell phone to call for help, the suspect took the phone away and threw it into the yard, breaking the phone."
