TEEN FAITH Youth groups strive to better themselves, communities through religion

Whether it is Sunday morning or Wednesday evening, Santa Fe youth are getting together to practice their faith and become involved in their church communities — sometimes engaging in difficult conversations about faith and belief.

And yet, the last 20 years have seen a decline in churchgoers — including teens — according to Holly Roach, youth director for the First Presbyterian Church and Westminster Presbyterian Church in Santa Fe. “Church culture needs to be more relevant to youth,” she said. “How do we as the church support them?”
