Catherine Clemens, a landscape architect with a background in art, came up with a cool design for an outdoor fountain. Water, and light, would sprout from a red glass bowl set near one end of a long boulder.
She initially tried to find someone to make the glass piece for her. On a recommendation, she checked out Bullseye Glass on Early Street and found out about the process — kiln-form glass — that would be required to fashion a thick, shallow, glass bowl of the type she envisioned.
