Darlings,

I recently spent a week in Hondo, a minimally populated area situated about 25 miles east of Ruidoso and 45 miles west of Roswell. At first glance, the only thing there is a gas station, an Allsup’s convenience store, and beautiful scenery. But if you slow down at mile marker 284 on U.S. 70/380, you’ll see a sign directing you to the Hondo Iris Farm and Gallery. Buttercups, that makes the 3-hour drive from Santa Fe worth every mile. For those of us who nostalgically remember the old iris farm in Cerrillos, this one in Hondo is 100 times better (maybe even 1,000).
