Most of us spend one third of our day in bed (even if we are not asleep!) which should prompt us to create a sanctuary experience for the best rest possible. The bed plays a large physical and visual role in the bedroom, so why not make it as beautiful as it is comfortable? Hoteliers know that their guests not only expect a perfectly-made and comfortable bed, but also that the style of the bed can instantly make or break a room.

Like a layered cake, it is important to start with a good quality foundation: a combination of mattress and box spring or mattress and platform. Top the foundation with a cotton mattress pad or a lamb’s wool pad (great for cooler months) to protect the mattress and add a layer of plushness. For the ultimate nest, add a gusseted down featherbed over the pad, and you will never want to get out of bed.
