A 64-year-old single mother in Santa Fe says she receives Social Security benefits and Section 8 housing assistance but struggles to cover living expenses for herself and her daughter.

She says they don’t have enough money to pay for repairs for the van they use in part to travel to medical appointments.

She is asking for help getting the heater and fuel gauge in their vehicle fixed.

They are among hundreds of people seeking help from the Empty Stocking Fund this season.
