As teenagers, we always think about what we're going to do before we die.

But do we ever think about what we want to do before we graduate from high school? I hadn't really thought about it until my cousin asked me.

Now that I'm going to be a sophomore, I'm beginning to think more about my life in school. Like most other students, I think about how time tends to "fly by."

So what should we call this high school "to-do" list? I asked some friends, but nobody came up with a good name. "A high school bucket list" was the genius idea I got from my cousin, who is now in college.

So I took it to my friends and they came up with many ideas: "I want to spend a whole summer traveling the world."

"I want to improve my relationship with my brother."

"I want to get my grades up."

It's obvious that we all have goals we want to accomplish before we graduate, so why didn't we think of this sooner?

I guess we get so wrapped up in all of our daily responsibilities that we don't really think about what we'll be doing during these four years. Some of us will go to prom and other will date a few people, but that's probably not all that we want to do in high school.

Personally, I would like to participate in a foreign-exchange program, learn about career opportunities and get in touch with my spirituality as a devoted Methodist Christian.

Maybe all students should think about what they want to do before high school ends, and for those who have already graduated, you can think about what you want to accomplish now.
