Battlefield 3 is the latest game in the Battlefield franchise. When it was released in late 2011, Battlefield 3 became the main competition for Modern Warfare 3. The new game boasts an updated version of the Frostbite game engine, which was made famous for having completely destructible environments.

However, compared to its two previous successors, Battlefield 3 game falls short.

The latest Battlefield steps away from Preston, Sweetwater, Haggard and Redford "Sarge," and all the strange antics that came with these characters. Instead of having a hardcore storyline, Battlefield 3 brings together a rag-tag group of soldiers that are more focused on capturing Russian gold rather than fighting the war. Although solid, the storyline is somewhat boring and lacks comedic relief. It's so difficult to follow at times. The only thing that saves plotline are the action scenes and its dramatic ending.

The game's graphics and Frostbite engine also are disappointing.

Without any humor, amazing graphics and a Frostbite engine to look forward to, Battlefield 3 is thrust back into the cliché war games.
