As a gamer, I was too young to experience The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time in 1998, when it first came out on Nintendo 64. Why does this matter in 2011? Because now you can play Ocarina of Time in 3-D on Nintendo 3DS.

Five months ago, Nintendo launched its 3DS video-game system with 14 games. Since then, Nintendo fans, who bought the glasses-free 3-D system, have been anticipating Link's new 3-D face-lift, which is spectacular — a true masterpiece.

True, Ocarina doesn't have the best story or plotline and its dialogue is a little cheesy, but it has a great combat system, tricky puzzles, tons of collectibles and the infamous annoying fairy.

Even if you've conquered Ganon, the antagonist, and found every hidden spider, this version of Ocarina offers a new way to play the game after you've beaten it. The new mode reverses every location in the game, so instead of the castle being in the north, it's now in the south and all the dungeons have new puzzles with additional rooms.

The 3-D graphics are not only impressive, but also are a considerable leap from the original 2-D game.

Nearly 14 years after its original release, Ocarina of Time is obviously still relevant in the gaming world. It clearly needed a graphical update, though. Hopefully this update will give young gamers such as myself a better perspective on classic games.
