Ever wondered what it would fill like to have your album be the No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and Top Country Albums and selling 480,922 copies in the first week?
Well Lady Antebellum knows exactly how this feels, releasing their second album Need You Now in January 2010 — which became a platinum record in U.S. But they have yet to meet the end of their greatness. The group has five nominations for the Academy of Country Music Awards, including awards for song of the year — "Need You Now"— and video of the year — Need You Now.
The release is not your average country album; it has a mix of different instruments such the piano and violin that give this album a unique twist. They use the piano in almost every song which really changes the sound, such as in the song "Our Kind of Love," with a beginning that will get you pumped.
With feel-good, roll-down-the-window kind-of songs with lyrics like: "What we got is just like driving on an open highway, never knowing what we're gonna find, just like two kids; baby always tryin' to live it up," the album is sure to please.
I mainly recommend this album to those who are already Lady Antebellum fans because the styles jump around a lot. I would just recommend a select few songs for everyone else to download, such as (if your more into slow country) "Need You Now," "If I Knew Then" or "Love this Pain." If you're more into upbeat country, I would try "Our Kind of Love," "Perfect Day" or "Stars Tonight."
