If this week was a Thanksgiving feast, prep sports fans would be stuffed by Saturday, and dessert hasn't yet been served.

Here's what your sweet tooth can sample on Saturday:

State swimming.

State wrestling.

The final day of district play (sans Class B).

The day will be coated with drama and filled with tears, cheers and champions. Remember to brush your teeth afterward.

WRESTLING

Last week: Los Alamos won its first District 2AAAA title in 16 years, thanks in part to district titles by Brian Geyer (at 170 pounds), Corey Geyer (152) and Arnoldo Ortiz (182). Santa Fe High's Anthony Abeyta made it to 22-0 by winning at 160. St. Michael's rolled through the District 1/5A-AAA meet, with all 11 wrestlers who reached the finals winning. Las Vegas Robertson dominated 2A-AAA, with 12 wrestlers winning district crowns.

This week: There are plenty of story lines for the state championships. Horsemen senior Jess Martinez goes for a fourth straight state title, while sophomore Koery Windham aims to keep the drive for five alive by winning his third. Abeyta seeks a second title medal in AAAA, this time at 160, while Capital freshman Ernesto Salvidrez, a freshman, goes for two in a row.

Meanwhile, the Horsemen are the team to beat in A-AAA, and are looking for their second blue trophy in three years.

SWIMMING

Last week: The District 1 meet was all about typing up loose ends. Los Alamos boys and girls won the district title. Desert Academy got its girls 200-yard medley team to state with a second-place finish (top two finishers in each event at district advanced). Lady Wildcats junior Hannah Lochner set a district record in the 100 butterfly. Santa Fe Preparatory's Seth Montgomery posted his best 100 butterfly time, while Matt Smallwood added the 50 freestyle to his "things to do" list for state.

This week: Montgomery is a favorite in the 100 backstroke, Smallwood in the 100 breaststroke. Wildcat Stuart Sproul will go for the 1-meter diving title. Los Alamos can post top-5 finishes as a team.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Last week: Capital wrapped up its first District 2AAAA regular season title by beating Bernalillo, while Mora took a giant step toward the 2AA crown by beating Prep. Santa Fe Waldorf bowed to Wagon Mound on Saturday, missing a chance to pad its résumé.

The Horsemen stopped a two-game 5AAA losing skid by beating Pojoaque Valley and Santa Fe Indian School. Taos beat Robertson in 2AAA action, setting up a likely playoff for the top spot the following week.

This week: Los Alamos can stamp a state tournament spot by beating Capital on Wednesday. Mora needs to beat Peñasco and Monte del Sol to take 2AA. Meanwhile, Prep and Pecos battle it out for second place in the district on Thursday. The Horsemen can make a statement by beating Hope on Saturday.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Last week: SFIS turned a three-team race in 5AAA into a two-team battle by beating St. Michael's. Oh, and the Lady Braves beat Kirtland Central on Tuesday. Pojoaque put a scare into co-leader Hope Christian before losing in overtime. Robertson wrapped up the 2AAA title with a win over Taos. Española and Santa Fe High kept pace with each other atop the 2AAAA standings. NMSD beat Santa Fe Waldorf to take control of the 1B standings.

This week: Peñasco has to protect its 2AA lead by heading to Pecos on Monday and to Mora on Friday. Hope gets the Lady Braves (Tuesday) and the Lady Horsemen (Friday) at home. Coronado is a McCurdy School win on Saturday from taking the 4A top spot.
