PCL: Isotopes hammer 16 hits, crush Colorado Springs

One night after going hitless, the Albuquerque Isotopes pounded 16 hits en route to a 13-8 victory over the Colorado Springs Sky Sox in Pacific Coast League baseball Monday night before 1,849 at Security Service Field.Albuquerque scored at least one run in its first seven innings, including three in the second and three in the sixth. Chris Barnwell homered in the fourth and Chase Lambin homered in the sixth for the Isotopes (20-17).
Lambin finished 3-for-5 with three RBIs, while Barnwell went 2-for-4 and drove in four runs. Each doubled. John Gall also collected three hits.
Albuquerque starter Bob Keppel earned the victory. Keppel (5-2) allowed seven runs in six innings. He walked two and struck out seven.
Keppel, who surrendered five, first-inning runs, left with a 12-7 advantage.
Colorado Springs held a 7-4 advantage after two innings. Albuquerque responded with nine unanswered runs over the next five innings.
Valerio De Los Santos was tagged with the loss. De Los Santos (3-3) lasted only 4 1/3 innings after yielding 11 hits and nine runs. He also walked two and struck out five.
The Sky Sox (17-20) finished with 12 hits. Each team committed two errors. The game was played in 33 mile-per-hour wind.
Albuquerque and Colorado Springs conclude their series tonight at 7:05. The Isotopes have an off-day Wednesday before opening an eight-game home stand Thursday against Omaha.
