STORRS, Conn. — Hasheem Thabeet had eight points, 16 rebounds and seven blocks to lead No. 1 Connecticut to its 12th straight victory, 63-49 over No. 23 Syracuse on Wednesday, the Orange's fifth loss in six games.

A.J. Price had 17 points for the Huskies (23-1, 11-1 Big East).

They overcame a sloppy first half by cutting down the turnovers and hitting 3-pointers, pulling away with a 12-0 run that gave Connecticut a 56-40 lead midway through the second half.

Jonny Flynn had 16 points for Syracuse (18-7, 6-6).

No. 2 Oklahoma 78, Baylor 63

In Waco, Texas, Blake Griffin had 18 points and 10 rebounds for his the Sooners' record-tying 21st double-double this season and tNo. 2 Oklahoma beat the Bulldogs for its 12th straight victory.

The Sooners (24-1, 10-0 Big 12) won their 30th consecutive game over Baylor (15-9, 3-7), a streak that dates back to December 1977.

No. 3 North Carolina 101, No. 6 Duke 87

In Durham, N.C., Ty Lawson helped Tyler Hansbrough make it four in a row at Cameron Indoor Stadium, while keeping himself perfect against the Tar Heels' most despised rival.

N.C. State 82, No. 7 Wake Forest 76

In Raleigh, N.C., Brandon Costner scored 23 points to help the Wolfpack beat a ranked opponent for the first time in five games this season.

Farnold Degand and Courtney Fells added 14 points apiece for N.C. State (13-9, 3-6 Atlantic Coast Conference).

No. 8 Memphis 63, Tulsa 37

In Memphis, Tenn., Robert Dozier scored a career-high 23 points, Tyreke Evans added 13 and the Tigers won their 15th straight.

Memphis (21-3, 9-0 Conference USA) won its 51st consecutive game in league play.

Dayton 71, No. 14 Xavier 58


In Dayton, Ohio, Chris Wright led a balanced offense with 19 points, and Dayton ended its six-game losing streak against the Musketeers.

No. 20 Purdue 61, Penn State 47

In West Lafayette, Ind., JaJuan Johnson had 14 points and 13 rebounds, and the Boilermakers moved into a tie for second place in the Big Ten.

Bobby Riddell scored a career-high 13 points for Purdue (18-6, 7-4).

BYU 94, Colorado State 60

In Provo, Utah, Jonathan Tavernari scored 21 points and pulled down 11 rebounds to lead the hot-shooting Cougars to a win over the Rams.

Utah 67, San Diego State 55

In Salt Lake City , Shaun Green scored 21 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead the Utes to a victory over the Aztecs.
