It wasn't exactly a pitcher's duel, but the Albuquerque Isotopes will take the win.
The Isotopes outslugged the Omaha Royals in a Pacific Coast League baseball contest, 14-6, in front of a crowd of 6,127 at Isotopes Park.
Third baseman Russ Mitchell led the way at the plate for the Isotopes, going 3-for-4 with a pair of two-run home runs, while Michael Restovich finished a single short of hitting for the cycle, going 3-for-5 with three RBIs.
Albuquerque (34-30) also got a big lift from the top of the lineup, with leadoff hitter Xavier Paul going 3-for-5 with three runs and two RBIs and No. 2 hitter Ivan DeJesus getting three hits in five at-bats with two RBIs.
Tim Corcoran (5-6) earned the win, giving up six runs — five earned — on seven hits in 5 2/3 innings. Luis Mendoza (4-5) took the loss for Omaha (34-30), which has now dropped two of three games to against the Isotopes.
The four-game homestand ends today, then the Isotopes embark on an eight-game road trip Friday, beginning with a four-game set against the Iowa Cubs.
