Through the nine innings, Albuquerque and Memphis swapped 2s and 1s on the AutoZone Park scoreboard.

But in the bottom of the 10th, the Redbirds finished one better.

Daniel Descalso's sacrifice fly with the bases loaded plated the winning run, as Memphis outlasted the Isotopes 8-7 Sunday afternoon.

It was the series finale and the last game before the Pacific Coast League takes a three-day break for the Triple-A All-Star baseball game.

Albuquerque stands 45-44, which leads the Southern Division of the American Conference in the PCL. The Isotopes open the second half of the season at home Thursday against New Orleans.

The Isotopes powered their way to a 5-2 advantage with a pair of two-run innings.

In the third, Tony Abreu slugged a two-run home run, his third of the season. Mitch Jones led off the fourth with his 22nd home run, and three batters later A.J. Ellis plated Sergio Garcia with a double.

Memphis rallied with two runs in the fifth and sixth to forge a 6-6 deadlock.

The Redbirds again caught the Isotopes in the eighth, after each scored a run.

Jess Todd works two hitless innings to earn the victory. Todd (4-1) walked one and struck out one.

Henry Bonilla, who entered with two outs in the bottom of the eighth, was tagged with the loss. Bonilla (3-6) gave up two hits, walked two and struck out two.

Donovan Solano collected four of the Redbirds' 14 hits. Descalso and Jon Jay had two hits apiece.

J.D. Closser was the lone Isotope with more than one hit, finishing 2-for-3.
