After matching the second best start in school history with Saturday's come-from-behind victory over Creighton, the UNM men's basketball team took another dramatic leap up the national rankings Monday morning.

The Lobos, 12-0 for the first time since the 1973-74 season and currently boasting the nation's longest winning streak, are ranked No. 12 in this week's USA Today/ESPN coaches poll and No. 13 in this week's Associated Press Top 25.

Both coaches who lost to the Lobos last week — Mike Adras of Northern Arizona and Dana Altman of Creighton — are among the 31 head coaches selected to be on this year's USA Today coaches panel.

UNM has just one game this week, a Wednesday night game in Tulsa, Okla., vs. Oral Roberts University. The big game is next Tuesday's (Dec. 29) game against Texas Tech (No. 23 in AP poll, dropped out of coaches poll) in The Pit.

If you don't have tickets for that one, you're out of luck. It sold out by noon last Friday.
