That was the length of Friday night's series finale between Iowa and Albuquerque at Isotopes Park.
Rain suspended the Pacific Coast League baseball game in the top of the first inning, but not before the Cubs put four runs — and only one out — on the scoreboard.
John Ely, the Albuquerque starter, threw 12 balls and nine strikes. Micah Hoffman doubled in two runs on one pitch. Ty Wright plated two runs with a home run on another pitch.
Four other Cubs batted — Sam Fuld walked, Darwin Barney singled, Bobby Scales struck out and Bryan LaHair was at home plate with a two-ball count when the umpires halted play. After a 1-hour,
28-minute delay, the game was suspended because of unplayable field conditions.
The game will be resumed Aug. 31, the next time the Cubs visit Albuquerque.
The Isotopes visit New Orleans for four days starting tonight before returning home for an eight-game set, evenly divided by Sacramento and Fresno.
