Memphis used a strong outing from starter Adam Ottavino to blank visiting Albuquerque 3-0 Friday in Pacific Coast League baseball at AutoZone Park.

Ottavino earned his first Triple-A win in his team-leading 17th start of the year pitching 8 1/3 scoreless innings. The former first-round pick scattered four hits, walked one and fanned seven before leaving after a Chin-Lung Hu double in the ninth inning.

Redbirds closer and All-Star Jess Todd struck out the final two batters to pick up his league-leading 21st save of the year.

In a game that featured eight total hits with each team collecting four, Memphis scratched out three runs for the victory.

Jon Jay led off the bottom of the first inning with a home run but the 'Birds had just three hits the rest of the game scoring a run in the sixth inning thanks to three wild pitches from Albuquerque starter Charlie Haegar, who took the loss allowing three runs on four hits across seven innings.
