The New Mexico Historic Preservation Division celebrates the winners of the 2008 Heritage Preservation Awards at 2 p.m. on Friday, May 2, at the Scottish Rite Center. And the awards go to:



Herman Agoya: Lifetime Achievement Award for cultural-traditions preservation at Ohkay Owingeh Pueblo.

Kathryn A. Flynn: Individual Achievement Award for her leadership role in laying the groundwork for the New Deal 75th-anniversary commemoration.

Bonnie Ocheltree: Individual Achievement Award for restoration of the historic Lyons and Campbell Ranch and her role in establishing the Silver City Museum.

Terry and Susie Mossman: Individual Achievement Award for historic-building restorations in Las Vegas.

Jean Salazar: Individual Achievement Award for her work to nominate Albuquerque's Sigma Chi Road Historic District to the State Register of Cultural Properties.

Calvin Bailey, Derek Bailey, Michael Hughes, Robert Pick, Carolyn Bostick Pruett, and Milton Thomas: Archaeological or the creation of the Summerford Mountain Archaeological District and National Register of Historic Places listing.

John Mack, Angelyn Bass Rivera, and Lauren Meyer: Archaeological Heritage Preservation Awards for their work at Bandelier National Monument.

The Campbell Corporation: Archaeological Heritage Preservation Award for the resource-friendly Campbell Ranch Master Plan in Edgewood.

The New Mexico Chapter of the American Academy of Family Physicians and writer Michael Joe DuPont: Heritage Preservation Awards for the book Fifty Years of Family Medicine in New Mexico: Remarkable Innovators and Recalcitrant Mutes at the Ruidoso Rendezvous.
 
Mayor Martin Chavez of Albuquerque, John Castillo, and William S. Perkins: Community Preservation Planning Awards for preservation of Albuquerque's Roosevelt Park, a New Deal project.

The Carrie Tingley Hospital Celebration Committee: Heritage Preservation Award for an Organization for work commemorating the Carrie Tingley Hospitaor the New Deal 75th anniversary.

The Elida Centennial Committee: Community Preservation Planning Award for work on a book documenting the history of their tiny community and on the listing of the Elida Methodist Church on the State Register of Cultural Places.

Clay Campbell, Carl "Chip" Berglund, the Hubbell House Alliance, Crocker Ltd. Architectural Conservation, Cornerstones Community Partnerships, and Sam Baca: Architectural Heritage Preservation Awards for preservation of the historic Hubbell House.

Robin McKinney Martin and Meade Martin: Architectural Heritage Preservation Awards for stewardship and restoration projects at the Las Acequias farm in Nambé.

Devendra Narayan Contractor and Little Red LLC: Urban Design within an Historic Context Award for the remodel of the Sears/Hansen building in the Santa Fe Railyard.

The State Historian's Award for Excellence in New Mexico Heritage Scholarship is given in honor of the many writers and editors who wrote for the New roject — and their descendants.
