The Senate voted 25-17 on Thursday to reject a measure that would have allowed domestic partnerships for unmarried couples, including same-sex couples. Voting yes, in favor of the bill, were 17 Democrats. Voting no, against the proposal, were 15 Republicans and 10 Democrats.
