Santa Fe Animal Shelter & Humane Society: Mr. Boston is an independent type of feline. He gets along well with other cats and loves being scratched. He's a smaller cat who loves to sit on your lap. Jethro is a cute dog in need of love and consistency. He needs someone who will spend time giving him exercise and lots of loving. He prefers to be an only dog.

These and other animals are available for adoption from the shelter at 100 Caja del Rio Road. The shelter's adoption hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. The shelter's off-site adoption center, All Fur Friends, 2570 Camino Entrada, 471-6969, is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.

Española Valley Humane Society: Harrison, a 3-year-old Chihuahua mix, is great with people and other dogs. He'd love a place where he can run and play. Bond James Bond, 3, will steal your heart. He has an affectionate nature and loves to hang out at the house.

These and other animals are available for adoption at the shelter, 108 Hamm Parkway. The shelter is open from 10 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from noon to 4:45 p.m. Sunday. Felines & Friends New Mexico: Leona, a darling Turkish Angora mix, is shy and still adjusting to life away from a colony. She loves her special bed and enjoys the company of other cats. In the right home, she will blossom into a lovely companion kitty. Salamin is a real lover boy when petted or brushed. He's an easy-going Persian mix who would be happiest in a home with no small children or energetic dogs.

Cats of all ages are available for adoption from Felines & Friends and can be visited at Petco on Cerrillos Road throughout the week during regular store hours. Each week a different group of cats and kittens are featured. Adoption advisers are available 1 to 4 p.m. Thursday-Sunday. You are also invited to spend time with the group's special Cat of the Month at Teca Tu in Sanbusco Market Center during store hours.
