The Santa Fe Police Department is investigating the following reports:

• A backhoe valued at $1,300 was stolen Thursday from a vacant lot in the 100 block of Paseo de Peralta.

• A 2004 Chrysler Sebring was stolen Tuesday or Wednesday from the 200 block of West Cordova Road.

• A woman reported that two male acquaintances battered her after she accompanied them to where they were staying in the 300 block of East Marcy Street on Wednesday. The woman said she didn't think she'd been sexually assaulted, though she reported being in and out of consciousness for about two hours. The woman had numerous scrapes and abrasions, but declined a sexual assault exam. The incident is under investigation.

• A 14-year-old girl reported that an unidentified adult male touched her inappropriately Wednesday in the 6500 block of Valentine Way and gave her cocaine. The incident is under investigation.

• A man was found dead Wednesday at Motel 6, 3077 Cerrillos Road. Police reported no signs of foul play.

• A television and unspecified electronics valued at $7,000 were stolen Tuesday from a residence in the 200 block of North El Rancho Road.

• An unknown person set fire Wednesday to a 1981 Chevrolet El Camino parked behind a home in the 1700 block of Espinacitas Street.

• A video camera, a still camera, jewelry and a computer were stolen Wednesday from a residence in the 1900 block of Quapaw Street.

The Santa Fe County Sheriff's Department is investigating the following reports:

• A man reported that a man he hired last month to sell vacuum cleaners for his business checked out a machine Feb. 1 to sell to a buyer, then lost contact with the man for several days. The man later told the business owner he wanted $800 or he would not return the vacuum. The matter is under investigation.

• Deputies arrested Ross Maez, 31, 36 Calle Lazo Errante, on Thursday and charged him with battery on a household member.

• Deputies arrested Manuel Rivera, 36, address unavailable, on Thursday and charged him with aggravated DWI, possession of marijuana and having an open container of alcohol in his car.

• Deputies arrested Patrick Roybal, 22, address unavailable, on Wednesday and charged him with DWI.

• Deputies arrested Anthony Garza, 25, address unavailable, on Wednesday and charged him with battery on a household member.

• Deputies arrested Danica Quintana, 27, and Josette Barela, 38, addresses unavailable, on Wednesday and charged them each with battery on a household member.

• Deputies arrested Jose Avila-Ortiz, 38, of Santa Fe, on Wednesday and charged him with possession of cocaine.

• Deputies arrested Julian Gonzales, 39, of Santa Cruz, on Wednesday and charged him with criminal trespassing.

• Electronics, a television, video games and a laptop computer were stolen Wednesday from a residence on Vista Grande Drive in Eldorado.

• A 35-year-old resident of the 3200 block of Rufina Street reported Wednesday that her roommate held her down and stole $500, a cell phone and other unspecified items from her.
