The Santa Fe Police Department is investigating the following reports:

  • Officers arrested Leanna McClure, 18, No. 3 Balsa Court, on Tuesday and charged her with embezzlement. McClure allegedly admitted to stealing $640 worth of jewelry from TJ Maxx, 3521 Zafarano Drive, while working at the store.
  • Police arrested Adrian Duran, 34, of Santa Fe on Monday and charged him with battery on a police officer, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.
  • Officers arrested Lucio Joachin, 33, 1459 Zepol Road, on Tuesday and charged him with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, false imprisonment and interference with communications.
  • Police arrested Edward Babcock, age unavailable, 1312 Declovina St., on Thursday and charged him with residential burglary, criminal damage to property and fleeing from police. Babcock allegedly kicked in the door of a residence in the 800 block of Dunlap Street and rummaged through the house before officers caught up with him in the 900 block of Alto Street.
  • An unknown person smashed the front window of Alltel, 3545 Zafarano Drive, between Wednesday night and Thursday morning, though it was unclear from a police report whether anything was stolen.
  • Five hundred dollars in cash and $3,000 worth of food were stolen between Wednesday night and Thursday morning from an office and a storage room at Baja Taco, 2621 Cerrillos Road.
  • Officers arrested Jose Lovato, age unavailable, 2001 Hopewell St., on Wednesday and charged him with contributing to the delinquency of a minor, selling or giving alcohol to a minor and being a minor under the influence of alcohol.
  • A laptop computer, television, digital camera and jewelry were stolen Wednesday from a residence in the 200 block of Sombrio Drive.
  • A man kicked in the door of a residence in the 200 block of Montoya Street on Wednesday while the resident was home doing laundry. The man ran out the front door.
The Santa Fe County Sheriff's Department is investigating the following reports:

  • Deputies arrested Jose Guardo-Galdamez, 34, 5999 Airport Road, on Thursday and charged him with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving and no license. Guardo-Galdamez, whose breath alcohol content was .15, was involved in a single car crash on U.S. 84/285 in the Tesuque area after allegedly driving the wrong way on the road.
  • A propane tank and heater valued at $200 were stolen Wednesday from a portable building on Los Pinos Road.
  • Deputies arrested Dominga Garcia, 50, of Santa Fe on Thursday and charged her with battery on a household member.
  • Deputies arrested Angelo Ruiz, 28, of Santa Fe on Wednesday and charged him with bringing contraband into a jail after he was caught attempting to bring marijuana and tobacco into the Santa Fe County Detention Center.
  • Deputies arrested Chris Lievens, 20, 3237 Jemez Road, on Wednesday and charged him with causing great bodily injury by vehicle, careless driving and driving with a suspended or revoked license. Lievens, who was determined to be under the influence of alcohol, rolled his car at least two times about 5 a.m. on West Frontage Road near Avenida Sonrisa. Lievens' 19-year-old brother, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected from the car and suffered serious head, neck and bodily injuries after the car came to rest on the right shoulder of Interstate 25, according to a police report. Two juveniles in the car received minor injuries and were treated at St. Vincent Regional Medical Center and released to their parents.
