Here are more events planned in area faith communities this Sunday and in the coming weeks:From 7:30 to 9 a.m. on May 1, Joyful Ministries will host a National Day of Prayer Breakfast at Plaza South Café, 3011 Cerrillos Road. Call 473-1849 to make reservations to attend.
The ministries meet at 7 p.m. on Tuesdays and at 6 p.m. on Sundays and offer programs for healing and growing in the Lord. All are welcome to attend the services at the ministries, 1161 Siler Road. For more information, call the Rev. Judith Nowers at 473-1849.
Archbishop Richard Gundrey will preside at the Sunday celebration of Holy Eucharist at the Independent Catholic Apostolic Church of Antioch. He will discuss "What Did He Really Leave with Us?" Mozart's Laudate Dominum will be performed by the Rev. Mother Carol Calvert and Carol Farina.
The church meets Sundays at the Loretto Chapel, 207 Old Santa Fe Trail. doors open at
8:30 a.m.. Meditation begins at 8:45 a.m. Mass is celebrated from 9 to 10 a.m.
The church honors all paths that lead to love. It is a blend of ancient ritual, mystical flavor and progressive spiritual dialogue. All are welcome to take Communion. It is not affiliated with the Roman Catholic Church.
From 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Wednesdays, the church holds a weekly prayer and healing service at the church chapel and rectory, 111 W. Cordova Road. The service includes music, individual prayer treatments and laying on of hands by the clergy. This is followed by a speaker, a group dialogue and refreshments. All are welcome to attend. This Sunday at the United Church of Santa Fe, the Rev. Talitha Arnold continues the faith community's month-long focus on faith and the environment.
Arnold will discuss "Not Far and Not Silver or Gold" in both the 8:30 and 11 a.m. services.
The United Church Bell Choir, directed by Donna Clark, plays in both services. The Sanctuary Choir, directed by Catherine Robinson, sings at the 11 a.m. service and Steinway artist Jacquelyn Helin plays Brahms selections in both services.
In the 9:45 a.m. Sunday Adult Forums, the envirnomental series continues with panel discussion on "Building Green." Those who attend will look at the ways the church and individuals can incorporate Earth-caring practices in daily life
In a second forum, Cheryl McChesney, a psychiatrist and spiritual director, continues a series on "Spiritual Practices." Based on Practicing Our Faith by Dorothy Bass, forums will explore basic spiritual disciplines such as discernment, living in community and healing.
The forums are free and open to the public.
Children's Ministry and Youth Faith Adventures are offered through the morning, along with child care for infants and toddlers.

At 4 p.m. on Sunday, the Church of the Holy Faith Episcopal will host a dedication for the church's carillon bells.
Steve Watkins, a member of the parish, donated the set of bells to the church.
The church's bells ring the Angelus at 9 a.m., noon and 4 p.m. daily. The bells also ring a call to worship on Sundays at 8:15 and 10:45 a.m.
A reception follows the dedication.
- At 7 p.m. on Wednesday, a choral evensong for the Eve of the Ascension will be held. Theservice will celebrate the Ascension of Our Lord and will offer music by 16th-century master William Byrd, Thomas Morely and Peter Philips. A reception will follow the service.
Sunday services are held at 8:30 and 11 a.m.
Nurseries are provided from 8:15 a.m. through the 11 a.m. service. Coffee and refreshments will be served at 10 a.m. and after the 11 a.m. service.

Yom HaShoah is a day set aside to remember the millions that perished in the Holocaust — and pray that nothing such as this ever happens again.
At 7 p.m. on May 3, Grace Community Church will show a special 60-minute film produced by Jews for Jesus called Survivor Stories. Pastor Jimmy Sandoval will give a short message addressing anti-Semitism.
On Sunday May 4th there will a one-time Sunday School class at 9 a.m. titled "Building Bridges and Bridging Barriers," on how to address the Muslim community and interact with Muslim neighbors. The Sunday Holy Eucharist services at St. Bede's Episcopal Church are at 8 and
10:30 a.m. Sunday School for children through fifth grade begins at 10:15 a.m. Nursery care is available at both Sunday services.
- The Sunday adult forum is held at 9:15 a.m. in the church library. Presentations and discussion on various spiritual topics related to issues of the day including religious roots, arts and religion and current events.
Sunday begins the series called "Gifts of the Spirit." Six ordained Episcopal priests who are "canonically resident" at St. Bede's will talk about their ministries, both within and outside of the church. This Sunday, the presenters will be Jim and Melissa Leehan who will be talking about their work in Santa Fe as licensed marriage and family therapists. All adults are welcome. At the 10:30 a.m. Sunday service at Unity Santa Fe, the Rev. Brendalyn Batchelor will discuss "Go One Layer Deeper" to inspire those who attend to focus on an individual person — not by the superficial values of what is seen by the physical eyes, but by the "inner sight" of the value and potential of each person.
This is part of the spring book study of Yes, You Can Change the World by Aman Motwane.

- Youth Expressing Spirit, the children's group, and Youth of Unity, the teen group, gather during the 10:30 a.m. service. Child care is provided for infants and toddlers at the 10:30 service.
- From 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursdays through June 12, The Energy of Money course will be held. This study of the principles and techniques in Maria Nemeth's The Energy of Money will be facilitated by Mary Ruth, a student of the Academy for Coaching Excellence that Nemeth founded. The class is free. A free-will love offering is suggested.
Unity Santa Fe's metaphysical message of positive, practical Christianity is open to people of all faiths, creeds, races and sexual orientations.

At the 9:30 a.m. Sunday workshop service at Zia United Methodist Church, Pastor Bethany Carpenter will discuss "Spiritual Silversmith."
During the service, Children's Church and nursery care for infants and toddlers also is offered. There is Communion during the service and fellowship time after the service.

At the 8 and 10 a.m. Sunday services at Christ Lutheran Church, the Rev. Benjamin Larzelere continues his sermon series for the Easter season with the reading from the Gospel of John in which Jesus tells his followers that if they love him, they will keep his commandments. Larzelere will discuss just what those commandments are.
The commemorations for the week include Catherine of Siena, who died in 1380. She will be remembered on Tuesday. The apostles Philip and James will be remembered on Thursday. Athanasius, the bishop of Alexandria who died in 373, will be remembered on May 2. Monica, mother of Augustine, died in 387, will be remembered on May 4.

The Jewish Women's Circle at Chabad Jewish Center of Santa Fe invites women to gather together to share and celebrate the Jewish experiences of study, understanding, friendship, creativity and kinship through studying the 10 Sefirot and performing Mitzvot.

At 2 p.m. on May 4, Our Lady of the Woods will celebrate the sabbat of Beltane at North Mesa Park in Los Alamos. The celebration is sure to include a traditional Maypole. Those who attend are asked to bring a contribution for the potluck to be held after the ceremony.

May Day
At 8:45 a.m. on Sunday at the Santa Fe Center for Spiritual Living, the early meditation service begins. At the 10 a.m. Sunday celebration service, the Rev. Bernardo Monserrat will discuss "Spirit Guides Us and Its Creativity Serves Us."

- May Day— The Gayan Experience will be Thursday through May 4. The church will host a Beltane ritual and celebration, a waterfall hike and rock 'n roll. There will be a May 3 workshop with music, dharma talks, dinner and Dances of Universal Peace. On May 4, Gayan provides the music and the spiritual message at our service. The Santa Fe Kabbalah Study Groups welcome anyone interested in the study of Kabbalah.
- The Adanced Group meets on May 1 to study the idea of how the acquisition of experience in the natural world can serve as a way to regain a connection to the level of the psyche present in each individual at birth.
- The Beginners Group will meet May 8 to study the sefirot of Binah and Hokhman on the Tree of Life.
