Tonight's full moon in brooding Scorpio stirs our deepest moods. The moon hovers over this week's brash disposition; as Venus and Mars are in fiery Aries, they lend us generally brave and positive dispositions but can simplify and intensify our emotional and physical responses.

With Mercury in retrograde, our information or our mobility might be confused or delayed. We're operating without facts and may take a mood quickly and react with more intensity than a situation demands. Life is unusually full, our schedules crammed.

With all this buzz, we might need a few minutes alone to find ourselves. When we interact, things get spicy fast; passions are strong. The enthusiasm is there, but cooperation is low.

Given a day off, we'll dive into our own lives. Give us real problems, and we'll tackle them with courage and honesty. Give us snafus or let us get bored, and we'll overreact to small stuff. Under these circumstances, a real crisis could call for extreme measures, whether it's an all-nighter before an exam or a large-scale viral epidemic. It is important to keep communicating; we need objective information, and we need to find a calm center before acting.

As the weekend begins, let's dig deep into the roots. Renew with moments of personal freedom early in the week under a Sagittarius moon and get some work done midweek, though it may take extra effort as Mercury backs up into Taurus. We might have to slow down and reorganize our plans, but the effort will be worth it.

Friday, May 8:
Attention goes to serious challenges this morning. We may take overly drastic measures as the sun challenges Pluto. Make constructive changes this afternoon; small talk does not cut it. A moody, rich-toned, emotional evening under the full Scorpio moon; self-honesty and self-responsibility are essential.

Saturday, May 9: In the morning speak with actions, not words. An inner imperative presses, so we growl if pulled off track. Weeding is good for the garden and soul. We are more cooperative in the afternoon, even though signals cross easily. A cloud lifts in the evening; dance outside by the light of the Sagittarius moon.

Sunday, May 10: Share and enjoy Mother's Day as the cheerful, active Sagittarius moon trines Venus and Mars. Take advice with a grain of salt; laughter is better medicine, and so is time in the natural world. Travel to familiar places; greet long-distance connections. A fresh, philosophic perspective helps.

Monday, May 11: Life should be so easy, so we wonder why these rocks crop up in our field as Mars quincunxes Saturn. Some old project needs attention, but progress takes effort. Temper honesty with kindness; it shines best through story or parable tonight as the Sagittarius moon sextiles Neptune.

Tuesday, May 12: Get back to work under a stern Capricorn moon. Take a more structured or organized approach if things get rough; don't force things even though Mercury semisquares Mars. Tough news probably gives a partial picture. Watch the snappy comebacks; what feels good now might increase difficulties in the long term.

Wednesday, May 13:
Let's control ourselves and our reactions — not others — as the Capricorn moon trines Saturn. Watch a tendency to regulate and to rebel against regulations. Turn an argument into creative action this afternoon; use imagination instead of muscle.

Thursday, May 14: If expectations cause tension, step back, neither push nor bite. Make progress elsewhere, and then go back with an abundant heart as Venus semisquares Jupiter. Evening is relaxing; hang with friends and intimate connections as the moon enters Aquarius.
