From The Santa Fe New Mexican:

Dec. 4, 1911: Only six precincts have thus far failed to send in their poll books and these are expected tonight. ... This will mean that the actual count by the state canvassing board will start Monday morning and since there are no irregularities that point to fraud, the count will proceed without delay. The precincts that have not yet sent in their books are in Taos, Rio Arriba, McKinley and Doña Ana counties.

Dec. 4, 1961: Will Harrison column — Knowing New Mexico's affection for Billy the Kid and Pancho Villa, it came as no surprise when three people nominated Geronimo, the Apache terror of the last century, as New Mexico's greatest son. Geronimo was named along with some 20 others in this writer's request for suggestions for the greatest native born New Mexican, living or dead. The Apache chief had some noble Indian traits, fought for his people and his land and became sort of a patron saint of paratroopers. Whether he was born in New Mexico is questionable. Some think he came from Arizona.

Dec. 4, 1986:
The former chairman of the city Parking Committee said being fired from his post has not altered his opposition to turning three city parking areas over to private management. John Lopez was asked to resign by Mayor Sam Pick after a published news story quoted him as referring to the privatization question as "a Republican agenda."
