Joe's Dining (formerly Joe's Diner) is open on Mondays again.
That's the word from owners
Roland and
Sheila Richter.
"We started closing on Monday in 2004," Sheila said. "We needed a day to catch up."
But now the eatery is open 7:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. seven days a week.
In addition, the eatery has changed its name to Joe's Dining.
"The word diner was too difficult to live up to," Sheila Richter said.
"People expected they could see things like they do at Denny's," Roland Richter said. "That's what we're not. A very high percentage of our products come from local suppliers."
"We need to get back to a local sustainable food supply that's under our control," Sheila Richter said.
Joe's Dining is in the Rodeo Plaza shopping center at 2801 Rodeo Road. The telephone number is 471-3800.

With interest rates in the U.S. likely to be low for years to come, "more and more retirees and near retirees are looking at retirement in developing nations," said
Marta Nystrom, a certified retirement financial adviser in Santa Fe.
The trend was started by northern Europeans, and is now catching on with American and Canadians.
"Moreover, many 'emerging' countries are establishing retiree programs to entice expats to settle in their countries and spend their dollars," Nystrom said.
Nystrom said that before moving, there are "a number of issues" to check, including taxes, health care and social conditions.
Expats should realize there's no way to receive Medicare while overseas, Nystrom said, and long-term health care is also problematic, since most developing companies don't have facilities in place.
"You might also want to consider such things as access to family members, social structures, personal safety, travel, funerary arrangements and government stability," Nystrom said.
Nystrom can be reached at 473-9572.
