At the 10 a.m. Sunday service at United Church of Santa Fe, the 70-voice Holy Pretzels Youth Choir will sing. The group, from St. Andrew's United Methodist Church in Highlands Ranch, Colo., takes its name from a story of an Italian monk who rewarded his students with bread in the shape of praying arms. This sacred history is a reminder that singing is a powerful form of prayer.
The choir is on tour throughout the Southwest with the theme of "Detours," focusing on the unpredictable things that can lead to new life with hope, acceptance and joy.
The United Church, part of the progressive and inclusive United Church of Christ, is at the corner of St. Michael's Drive and Arroyo Chamiso. For more information, call 988-3295.
