The Santa Fe Police Department is investigating the following reports:
• Two paintings by Mark McDowell valued at a total of $2,850 were stolen Friday from Strong Schenck Galleries, 200 Canyon Road. The paintings were noticed as missing when police responded to a burglary in progress at the gallery about 5:30 p.m. A man was seen running from the gallery by several witnesses, the police report said. A backdoor window had been shattered.
• A woman in the 2300 block of Brother Luke Place said a man entered her home Friday and attempted to take cash from her. Few details were available, but the man was wearing a ski mask and a hooded sweat shirt with "Corona" written on it. He was described as 6 feet tall and weighing about 200 pounds.
• Two juvenile males were being held after a domestic disturbance Friday in the 2500 block of Camino San Patricio.
• A car stereo and an iPod were stolen Wednesday from a 2004 Pontiac Grand Am parked in the 500 block of Rio Grande Avenue.
• A juvenile was found in possession of marijuana and a butterfly knife at Santa Fe High School on Friday morning. No details were available.
The Santa Fe County Sheriff's Department is investigating the following reports:
• A weed trimmer was stolen between June and Oct. 15 from a storage shed on Ocate Road. The shed's lock had been pried open.
• David Toscano, 31, no address given, was arrested Friday on charges of driving on a suspended or revoked license and driving without headlights on. He also failed to have an interlock device, which made him subject to arrest, the report said.
DWI arrests
• Katherin Chase, 67, of Santa Fe was arrested on numerous charges, including DWI and failure to render aid, after a hit-and-run accident on West Alameda Street late Thursday. Chase also is accused of reckless driving and leaving the scene of an accident. She was released on $1,000 bond after being booked into the Santa Fe County jail early Friday, according to jail records. The accident occurred on Alameda near Defouri Street. Her 1999 Saab was found in her garage. Her business address was listed as 1562 Upper Canyon Road. No other information was available on the police report.
• Karen M. Starz of Santa Fe was arrested Friday on charges of aggravated DWI after a traffic stop on Cordova Road.
