Animals
- Española Valley Animal Shelter - The shelter is updating its facebook page information on what kinds of volunteers it might need if the influx of animals gets too great in response to the fire.
- Santa Fe Animal Shelter - SANTA FE, NM— The Santa Fe Animal Shelter & Humane Society (SFAS&HS) is prepared to take in dogs, cats, and other small household pets for those evacuating from fire-affected areas. Those who are evacuating should first consider family, friends, and boarding kennels. If no other resources are available, dog, cats, and other small household pets may be brought to SFAS&HS. It is crucial that animals brought to the shelter be in carriers or otherwise contained—even pillowcases for cats and belts or ropes for leashes for dogs will work. We ask evacuees to help with the feeding, walking, and care of their animals as much as possible.
- The NNMHA grounds, next to the Santa Fe Rodeo on 3233 Rodeo
Road is accepting livestock evacuations due to the fires. Please bring
your own buckets and feed and be prepared to care for your own animals
twice to three times a day. We don't have the manpower to provide care,
though we do have 110 stalls and water. 471-6654 Office.
