Actor Val Kilmer has been named honorary chairman of the 11th annual
Santa Fe Film Festival, which runs Oct. 20-25.
Kilmer, who has a ranch near San Ysidro, N.M., east of Santa Fe, has been a long-time supporter of the festival, according to organizers.
The announcement came after Kilmer volunteered to host a fundraiser for the film festival June 27 at his ranch.
Kilmer was recently in local news after he was asked to appear before the San Miguel County Commission and explain comments he made several years ago in a Rolling Stone article.
Kilmer apologized, again, for the comments.
