The Las Conchas Fire apparently knocked out KSFR’s radio signal sometime Monday night, the station reported Tuesday morning. But as of noon Tuesday, the signal was back up and the station was running again, according to George Weston, Chief Technology Officer for KSFR.

The station erected its transmission tower on Pajarito Mountain in Los Alamos in the summer of 2007. When the signal was lost sometime Monday night, the station attributed it to the fire, though Weston said he did not know if it the outage was due to damage to the transfer equipment or to a power outage.

The non-profit public radio station, founded in the late 1980s, is managed by the Northern New Mexico Radio Foundation, though SFCC still owns the license. KSFR listeners can call the station at 428-1527 or visit www.ksfr.org.
