Santa María de la Paz Catholic Community had two winning floats in Sunday's Desfile de la Gente, better known as the Historical/Hysterical Parade.
Parade chairwoman Theresa Anaya-Burney announced the winners in four categories Monday.
In the historical category, the winners were Santa María de la Paz's "A Celebration of 400 Years of Faith;" Johnnie's Cash Store; and Capital High School's "Jag Alley."
In the hysterical category, the winners were Santa Fe High School's Thespians; Wings for Hope/Toys for Tots; and "Dancing with Zozobra."
In the Western category, the winners were New Mexico Highlands University Rodeo; First Impressions Rodeo Club; and Del Norte Credit Union.
In the musical category, the winners were Mission of the Sixties: Woodstock 40th; Santa María de la Paz Choir; and "Elvis Reborn."
"We had over 200 entries," Anaya-Burney said. "Usually, at the end of the parade, all the trailers, when they finish up, they quickly disband and leave as fast as they can, and they didn't this year. Everybody was kind of sticking around, kind of enjoying the atmosphere. So I think there was just a real sense of community this year."
