The Santa Fe New Mexican will turn its attention this week toward the environment, problems facing it and what's being done about it. And, we want you to get involved. Sunday, we launched a new online gathering place www.santafegreenline.com where you are at the center.

The site launch coincides with the beginning of "Green Week" during which our news staff will focus on the many ways environmental issues impact our lives. Today, we look at the efforts of two households trying to live a greener lifestyle and the efforts being made by government to do the same.

Beginning on today, Earth Day, and continuing through Friday, a videographer will be on duty at The New Mexican's downtown office from noon until 2 p.m. to conduct on-camera interviews with you. We will also have a videographer on duty 5-7 p.m. Wednesday for interviews.

It doesn't matter whether you're a hard-core environmentalist or you've never recycled an aluminum can your whole life. If you're concerned about the state of our environment, we want to hear from you.

During your on-camera interview, we'll ask you three questions. You'll have a short time to answer each. We will feature interviews on our Web sites.

Several interviews have already been conducted. A few are posted below and more can be viewed at www.santafegreenline.com. While visiting the site, register as a member and keep a blog, share photos or videos and engage other folks who are concerned about the same issues as you.

The New Mexican's office located at 202 E. Marcy Street (map).
