A 70-year-old Serafina woman was killed in a one-vehicle accident on Interstate 25 near Ilfield in San Miguel County late Saturday night, New Mexico State Police said.
Carole Eagen-Floyd was pronounced dead at the scene after she was thrown from a 2000 Dodge Neon driven by her husband, David Floyd, 56, according to State Police spokesman Lt. Eric Garcia.
The vehicle was traveling northbound about 11 p.m. when it blew the left rear tire; Floyd lost control and the vehicle rolled three and half times, ejecting Eagen-Floyd, investigators said..
Garcia said she was not wearing a seat belt but that her husband was. He suffered minor injuries and was treated at the crash site.
Garcia said alcohol was not a factor.
