CIMARRON RIVER: Water flow below Eagle Nest Lake as of Monday was .11 cfs. Trout fishing was slow.
CONCHAS LAKE: Fishing pressure continued to be very light this past week. Fishing was slow with just a few walleye caught by anglers using slab spoons and jigs tipped with minnows. We had no reports on other species.
EAGLE NEST LAKE: Kokanee snagging was fair to good north of the boat ramp and in the Honey Hole area. Trout fishing was fair using roe sacs, power bait, salmon eggs and corn.
LAKE MALOYA/LAKE ALICE: Trout fishing at both lakes was good again this past week. Best baits were power baits and spinners.
MONASTERY LAKE: We had no reports from anglers this week.
PECOS RIVER: Water flow near the town of Pecos on Monday was 18 cfs. Trout fishing in the Villanueva area was good using spinners and salmon eggs. Further up stream, fishing was fair using small copper john barrs and salmon eggs.
RED RIVER: Water flow below the hatchery was 45 cfs. Trout fishing was slow to fair using woolly buggers, San Juan worms, power bait and salmon eggs.
RIO GRANDE: The water flow Monday morning at the Taos Junction Bridge was 393 cfs. Trout fishing was fair using bead head pheasant tail nymphs, woolly buggers, spinners and night crawlers. Fishing was slow to fair using streamers and jerk baits for northern pike. We had no reports on other species.
SHUREE PONDS: We had no reports from anglers this week.
SPRINGER LAKE: Fishing was slow for all species.
STORRIE LAKE: Fishing was slow for all species.
UTE LAKE: Prior to the latest cold front, fishing was good using slab spoons, blade baits and minnows on lindy rigs at 25 to 45 feet for walleye and white bass. Fishing for all other species was slow.
NORTHWEST AREA
ABIQUIú LAKE: Fishing was slow to fair using slab spoons and Pistol Petes for walleye. We had no reports on other species.
ALBUQUERQUE AREA DRAINS: Fishing in the Peralta, Albuquerque and Belen Drains was good drifting salmon eggs and wax worms and using small copper john barrs and parachute adams for stocked rainbow trout. We had no reports on other species.
BLUEWATER LAKE: Closed until spring of 2010. The main area of the park is scheduled to open March 1.
BRAZOS RIVER: Trout fishing was slow.
CANJILON LAKES: We had no reports from anglers this week.
CHAMA RIVER: Monday morning water flows below El Vado and Abiquiú were 156 cfs and 175 cfs, respectively. Fishing above and below El Vado and below Abiquiú was good using Rapalas, Panther Martins, power bait, salmon eggs and corn for a mixed bag of brown and rainbow trout.
COCHITI LAKE: Fishing was slow for all species.
EL VADO LAKE: Fishing was slow for all species.
FARMINGTON LAKE: Trout fishing was fair using power bait, salmon eggs, corn and spinners.
FENTON LAKE: We had no reports from anglers this week.
HERON LAKE: Kokanee snagging was fair to good at Brushy Point, Salmon Run and near the La Laja boat ramp. Fishing was fair using jigs, roe sacs and power bait for rainbow trout and a few small lake trout.
JACKSON LAKE: Fishing was fair to good using power bait and salmon eggs for trout.
JEMEZ WATERS: Water flow on the Jemez as of Monday morning was 33 cfs near Jemez Springs. Fishing on the Jemez was fair using salmon eggs and parachute adams for trout. We had no reports on other streams.
MANZANO LAKE: Fishing was slow.
MCGAFFEY LAKE: Fishing was slow for all species.
NAVAJO LAKE: Kokanee snagging was slow but there was some activity on the Pine arm, near the dam and at the Pine arm marina. Fishing was slow to fair using roe sacs and cut bait for catfish and trout. We had no reports on other species.
RAMAH LAKE: The water level is extremely low. Fishing was slow for all species.
SAN JUAN: Water flow below Navajo Lake as of Monday morning was 475 cfs. Trout fishing through the Quality Waters was fair using red annelids, small pheasant tail nymphs, sparkle worms, dead chickens, parachute adams and emergers. Fishing through the bait waters was fair using salmon eggs, garlic cheese, power bait and jerk baits.
SANTA CRUZ LAKE: The water level is quite low and fishing was slow.
TINGLEY BEACH: Trout fishing at the central and youth ponds was fair to good using power bait, salmon eggs, worms and spinners. Fishing for trout in the Catch and Release Pond was good using foam beetles, small red annelids, midge patterns and egg patterns.
CATCHES OF THE WEEK
CHAMA RIVER: Nov. 7, Daniel Vela of Santa Fe caught a 25-inch, 6-pound, 6-ounce walleye. He was fishing the river above Abiquiú Lake and using a black and red Pistol Pete. On Nov. 11, Kurt Duerre of Los Alamos caught two 24-inch brown trout. He was fishing below El Vado and using a brook trout-colored Rapala.
