This is the second installment in La Fashionaria's annual three-part makeover miniseries. In this week's episode, you'll see the heavy lifting that went into taking our trusting makeover subjects from blah to bodacious.
Every year, we use a different Santa Fe salon to help us weed-wack our makoverees into shape. This year, we chose the Cactus Aveda Salon, 607 Cerrillos Road, owned by Anthony Paceoni and James F. Cardoso. They moved here from Connecticut 13 years ago and have been running the salon in the same location ever since. This year, Cactus shut down the whole salon for us on a Monday and spoiled us rotten with a yummy breakfast of berries and yogurt and a delicious salad for lunch from the trendy new salad spot Vinaigrette, which is just around the corner from the salon.
Stylists Julie Moss and Karalyn Brindley attacked our clients' hair as a tag team, cutting and coloring in synchronicity — sometimes even on the same person's head. The shop's manicurist and waxer, Ana Moreno, worked her tail off for five hours straight: pruning, painting and plucking our clients to perfection.
Tune in next week to see the fruits of their labor!
