Free cholesterol testing available

In celebration of Heart Month, the Santa Fe County Mobile Health Van will be offering free total cholesterol testing daily, throughout the month of February.

For more accurate results, those who want to be tested are asked to fast for 12 hours. It is OK to drink water, black coffee or tea. For the complete schedule, visit www.santafecounty.org or call Angela Thorndyke at 505-231-2382.

UNM offers health tests for miners

The Radiation Exposure Screening and Education Program at The University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center offers free, confidential health screenings, patient education, benefits counseling and follow-up recommendations.

The free screenings are available for uranium miners, millers and ore transporters who worked for at least one year between 1942 and 1971. An appointment is required. Call 505-272-4672 or 505-272-3763.
