The New Mexico Environment Department reported the following food-service inspections between April 14 and May 9. Call 827-1840 to make a report.
ALICIA'S TORTILLERIA, 1213 RUFINA CIRCLE, SUITE A-5: One violation. During a regular inspection, an inspector cited the kitchen for a moderate-risk violation because a can opener was not cleaned and sanitized after use. During a follow-up inspection, no violations were found.
ANTOJITAS MEXICANOS, 1260 SILVER ROAD: Three violations. During an opening inspection, an inspector cited the restaurant for a high-risk violation because a hand sink was inaccessible. The inspector cited the restaurant for a moderate-risk violation because onions were stored on the floor. The inspector cited the restaurant for a low-risk violation because an unapproved knife holder was in use. During a follow-up inspection, no violations were found.
EL PARADERO BED AND BREAKFAST INN, 220 W. MANHATTAN AVE.: Two violations. During a regular inspection, an inspector cited the establishment for a moderate-risk violation because a thermometer was inaccurately reading 35-36 degrees when the food was 41-43 degrees. The inspector also cited the establishment for a moderate-risk violation because the kitchen door was propped open.
ESPRESSO DE ARTE, 1722 LLANO DRIVE, SUITE D: During an opening inspection, no violations were found.
FATHER SKY MOTHER EARTH GALLERY, 124 GALISTEO ST.: One violation. During a regular inspection, an inspector cited the establishment for a moderate-risk violation because no chlorine test strips were available. The inspector said it is a "nice little operation."
HOME RUN PIZZA, 2801 RODEO ROAD: During a regular inspection, no violations were found.
IL PIATTO, 95 W. MARCY ST.: Two violations. During a regular inspection, an inspector cited the restaurant for a moderate-risk violation because a can opener was not cleaned and sanitized after use. The inspector cited the restaurant for a low-risk violation because proper NMED permits were not posted in a conspicuous place.
INN AT SANTA FE, 8376 CERRILLOS ROAD: During a regular inspection, no violations were found. The inspector said it was a good kitchen with good maintenance practices.
LATE NIGHT BURGER, 1201 CERRILLOS ROAD: Four violations. During an inspection to follow up on a complaint, an inspector cited the restaurant for a high-risk violation because an unapproved insecticide, called Combat, was in use. The inspector cited the restaurant for a moderate-risk violation because soap dispensers were not labeled. The inspector also cited the restaurant for a moderate-risk violation because wiping-cloth bleach concentrate was too strong. The inspector cited the restaurant for a low-risk violation because cups were stored on a cloth towel. All violations were corrected.
MINE SHAFT TAVERN, 2846 N.M. 14, MADRID: One violation. During an inspection to follow up on a complaint, an inspector cited the tavern for a high-risk violation because of an improper defrosting process.
NOT JUST PIZZA, 2860 CERRILLOS ROAD, SUITE A-1: One violation. During an opening inspection, an inspector cited the restaurant for a low-risk violation because no hot water was available from a hot-water faucet.
QUAIL RUN CLUB AND RESORT, 3101 OLD PECOS TRAIL: One violation. During a regular inspection, an inspector cited the establishment for a moderate-risk violation because a can opener and a meat slicer were not cleaned and sanitized after use.
SALVADOR PEREZ SWIMMING POOL AND FITNESS CENTER, 601 ALTA VISTA: One violation. During a regular inspection, an inspector cited the establishment for a moderate-risk violation because no chlorine test strips were available to test the strength of bleach water.
SANTA FE BAKING COMPANY AND CAFE, 504 W CORDOVA ROAD: Two violations. During a regular inspection, an inspector cited the establishment for a moderate-risk violation because a meat slicer was not cleaned and sanitized after use. The inspector also cited the establishment for a moderate-risk violation because no sanitizer solution was in the sanitizer buckets or cloths.
SANTA FE STEAMER, 3242 CERRILLOS ROAD: Two violations. During a regular inspection, an inspector cited the restaurant for a moderate-risk violation because a can opener was not cleaned and sanitized after use. The inspector cited the restaurant for a low-risk violation because the employee restroom door was not self-closing.
SUBWAY ON THE PLAZA, 66 E. SAN FRANCISCO ST.: One violation. During a regular inspection, an inspector cited the restaurant for a moderate-risk violation because a thermometer probe was not cleaned and sanitized after use.
TECORORO CAFE, 2849 N. N.M. 14: One violation. During a regular inspection, an inspector cited the restaurant for a moderate-risk violation because no sanitizer test kit was available to test the concentration of sanitizing solution.
WOOD GORMLEY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL, 141 E. BOOTH ST.: During a regular inspection, no violations were found.
