Al-Anon

Al-Anon/Al-Ateen Meetings: Al-Anon is a worldwide fellowship of people whose lives have been affected by the disease of alcoholism in family members and friends. In Santa Fe, there are 12 English-speaking meetings, two Spanish-speaking meetings and one Al-Ateen meeting every week. Call 473-0101.

Anxiety/Compulsions

Anxiety and Panic Seminar: For those looking for the latest treatments for the most prevalent problems of our time, along with how to control the basic cause: worry. Presented by Richard C. Brain injury

Brian Injury Support group: Group for people who have sustained brain injuries because of trauma, stroke, aneurysm, tumor, disease or other neurological incidents. Cancer

Cancer Institute of New Mexico Foundation Support Groups: Breast Cancer Support Group: Open to any woman who has been diagnosed with breast cancer. The group meets from 4 to 5 p.m. on Wednesdays. The Cancer Support Group is open to any person who has been diagnosed with cancer. The group meets from 1 to 2:30 p.m. on Tuesdays. Groups meet at the institute, 490 A W. Zia Road. Caregivers

Kingston Residence of Santa Fe: An ongoing support group for caregivers of those with Alzheimers disease meets from 4 to 5 p.m. on the fourth Wednesday of each month at Kingston.  The group is facilitated by Mary Yamada, memory care director. Electrical Hyper-Sensitivity

Why Fry? If you experience physical or neurological problems when near electrical devices (especially computers, cell phones, and other high-frequency emitters) you are not alone. Man Kind Project

New Warrior Men's Circle: Group meets from 7 to 9:30 p.m. on Wednesdays to learn authentic meaning, leadership and clear communication with other men. Group meets at Center for Spiritual Living, 505 Camino de los Marquez. The men and women "co-gender" night is the first Wednesday of each month. Mental health

Recovery support groups: NAMI-Santa Fe offers NAMI Connection Recovery Support Groups for persons with mental illness, led by trained facilitators. Midlife Transition

Women in Midlife Transition: Pre-to-post menopausal, ages 45 to 60. Last Drag: A free quit smoking class for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and intersex smokers. Post-abortion

Post-Abortion Support Group: For women and men facing a crisis pregnancy or grieving a past abortion. Sex Addicts Anonymous

Sex Addicts Anonymous: 12-step support for sex addiction, love and relationship addiction. Mondays: Noon, closed. Something for Nothing: Meets from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesdays at the Center on St. Michael's Drive. There will be a $10 fee. Call 471-8575.

Stroke Support

Stroke Survivors Group: Exchange experiences and ideas for making and sustaining a good recovery. Meets from noon to 1 p.m. on the fourth Friday of the month in the Atrium Room at St. Vincent Regional Medical Center. Call Carol Weber at 989-3604.

Stroke Support Group: Meets at 10 a.m. on Fridays in Room 1516 of the Christus St. Vincent Regional Medical Center. Call Niki at 820-5742.

Substance Abuse

Substance Abuse: Is addiction taking over your life or that of someone you love? Compassionate Healing can help. Free weekly psychological, educational support groups for those affected by substance abuse are facilitated by Andrea Michelle. The group for adolescent boys (13 to 18 years old) who are substance abusers meets from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Mondays. The groups for families of a substance abuser meets from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Tuesdays. Groups meet in the conference room at The Lofts, 2600 Cerrillos Road. Call Compassioinate Helaing at 424-9622 for reservations. Space is limited.

Suicide Support

Santa Fe Survivors of Suicide: A support group for people who have lost loved ones through suicide meets the first and third Thursday of each month. The meetings take place from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Southwest Counseling Center, 1628 St. Michael's Drive in the St. Michael's Village Shopping Center. There is no fee to attend this group. TOPS

Take Off Pounds Sensivly: (TOPS) is a nonprofit weight-loss support group for people of all ages, sexes and weights,  with  low membership fees. Current meetings are Wednesdays at White Rock Presbyterian Church, 310 Rover Blvd., next door to Rover Park. Weigh-in starts at 9:15 a.m. and the meeting starts at 10 a.m. Call Joanne Rupprechet at 505-455-2161. On Thursdays, meetings in Santa Fe are at Christ Lutheran Church, 1701 Arroyo Chamiso.
