Stop by the cafe in the Santa Fe Farmers Market building in the Santa Fe Railyard, 1607 Paseo de Peralta (at S. Guadalupe Street), between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Saturday, sample some great food — and help choose the winners of the market's Chile Challenge.

Farmers market vendors and Santa Fe chefs will be cooking up a storm in this anything-goes competition; the only rule is that they have to use Northern New Mexico chiles in their creations. (There's a rumor that there may be a pie cook-off, too, featuring ingredients from the farmers market.)

Restaurants and chefs participating in the challenge include Tom Kerpon of Rio Chama; Chocolate Maven; The Shed or La Chosa; The Tree House Pastry Shop & Cafe; and Louis Moskow of 315 Restaurant & Wine Bar and The Railyard Restaurant & Saloon.

Vendors include Bill Althouse, Matt Romero, Jan Matteson, Lisa Fox, Donna Lockridge, Doug Findley, Peaches Malmaud and Marie Carter.

Chile. Pie. Cider. Entertainment. What's not to love?
