Pastry chef Darci Rochau and the staff of the Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort & Spa in Bernalillo have created a ski resort-themed gingerbread village around the Christmas tree in the lodge living room.
The village includes
Mt. Tamaya with ski lifts and ski lodge; a pueblo-style plaza with shops, church and coffee shop; and a replica of the resort. It's made of gingerbread that's been set with royal and wedding cake icing, and includes accents of chocolate, marzipan, jelly beans, nuts, holiday candies, cinnamon sticks, white chocolate and pulled sugar.
The Hyatt Regency Resort & Spa, located on 500 acres on the Pueblo of Santa Ana, was recently recognized by Condé Nast Traveler as one of the top 75 U.S. mainland resorts. The gingerbread village will be on display until Dec. 31.
