Santa Fe traditional tinsmith
Jim Romero is worried that his many customers might be wondering where the items they ordered from him have gone.
They're on the way, but it's just taking a little longer than usual.
"I'm just getting back to the point where I can use both my hands," Romero said. That follows the successful removal of a brain tumor. "It's taken me some time."
Romero said he was pleased the recent Spanish Market had worked out well for him and that his market customers had received their orders on time.
Romero lives in La Cienega, south of Santa Fe, and was a sheet-metal worker for many years before he turned to tinsmithing, his father's profession.
"I've been sitting at my bench for 25 years," he said.
"He's a poster child for how to get through when things turn tough," said Romero's friend
Marie Cash. "He's a lesson."

That's what an employee of the restaurant said last week.
Owner
Florence Jaramillo has been hampered by health problems, including a broken hip.
The 40-year-old restaurant closed July 2008 following a fire. It's 23 miles north of Santa Fe.
