The Santa Fe Traditional Flea is up and running at the former Downs of Santa Fe.

"The Flea at The Downs," owned by Walt Borton and business partner Sarah Cook, opened last Saturday and will be open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. every Saturday and Sunday thorough June.

In July and August, the market also will be open on Friday.

Pojoaque Pueblo and Buffalo Thunder Resort and Casino will be "named sponsors" for the new flea market.

Santa Fe Professional Business Women has honored local businesses for their implementation of family-friendly policies and programs. Named employer of the year were Flow Science, Inc. (fewer than 35 employees) and New Mexico Bank and Trust (more than 35 employees).

SFPBW annually pays tribute to employers who meet criteria such as family-friendly employee policies, financial assistance for training or education courses, health care or financial assistance for health care, flexible work arrangements, and female employees who hold mid- and upper-level management positions.

Additional companies that met the criteria for consideration as employer of the year were Con Alma Health Foundation, Dragonfly Express, The Gentle Nudge School and The Pantry Restaurant.
