A father and daughter won the top 2009 honors in awards presented recently by the Santa Fe Association of Realtors.
Jonnalyn Grover of Coldwell Banker Trails West Realty was named Realtor of the Year moments after she presented the Lifetime Achievement award to her father, John Grover, also with Coldwell Banker Trails West Realty.
The Realtor of the Year is selected based on how the recipient upholds and exemplifies the Realtor Code of Ethics, industry professionalism, and participation in Realtor associations and community service, according to an association statement announcing the awards.
Donna Reynolds, the association's CEO, noted that Jonnalyn Grover recently became the qualifying broker for Trails West and is well-respected in the industry. "She's the kind of person realty people like to see on the other side of the table," Reynolds said.
She said Jonnalyn Grover also has been active in volunteer services both for the Santa Fe community and the association, where she has served as treasurer, and as regional director for the state Realtors' association and a member or chair of numerous industry committees.
She also has served as chairwoman of the board of Southwestern College and as a volunteer in the Santa Fe school district's reading programs for young students.
John Grover was recognized for his service both to the real-estate industry and the Santa Fe community for nearly 30 years.
In 1989, John received the Broker of the Year award from the Association, and his daughter was honored in 1997 as "rookie of the year."
John Grover has been active in the Santa Fe realty community for many years including as United Way chairman for Santa Fe County, a founding member of Partners in Education and president and vice president of Santa Fe Economic Development Incorporated and Santa Feans for Responsible Growth, among many other volunteer and civic activities.
Other award winners this year included Marc Martin with Rio Grande Title of Santa Fe who was honored with the 2009 Affiliate of the Year award, and John Shepler with Shepler Commercial Real Estate Services who received a Special Award for his years of service supporting the Association's Commercial Council.
